We were invited to present our work at teacher training in CNC technology. The teachers present at this workshop were form schools from the field of mechanical engineering. The field of mechanical engineering is very fast changing and we think that this field would be most appropriate to be introduced to e-learning.
The feedback was very positive and their opinion was that this e-course would be special suitable for young teacher who are good with technology but not that good in pedagogy of using it in e-learning.
We were honored to be able to present our work to the leaders of study groups for teachers from the field of mechanical engineering. They will be the ambassadors for spreading the word about the project and its results among mechanical engineering schools in Slovenia. We wanted to give them very good and broad information about the project and special about e-course and facilitators handbook.
We have manage to get another meeting that will be on October the 14th with the aim to invite more teachers to participate in this e-course that will be implemented through the program of further education and training for teachers. This program is organized by Ministry for education of Slovenia.
The last week (15.09-19.09) was very busy for the Polish team of evet2edu project as we were doing series of 4 workshops for teachers from VET schools. The workshops were co-organised with KOWEZiu. In total we trained 20 teachers who represent various fields (mechatronics, engineening, economy, architecture, logictic, etc.). We offered 3 learning paths:
- Active online learning
- Online group work
- Recording professional development through evidence of competences and qualification online.
After research on user requirements (WP1) and course piloting (WP4) we were aware of issues that are the most critical elements for VET teachers: collaboration, practice, and competences. The workshops were designed in reference to evet2edu e-course and based on its key elements: the concept of e-tivities, social learning and evidence-based learning. Continue reading
Yesterday (24th of September) we met with very interesting group of leaders of study groups for teachers from the field of mechanical engineering. They will be the ambassadors for spreading the word about the project and its results among mechanical engineering schools in Slovenia. We wanted to give them very good and broad information about the project and special about e-course and facilitators handbook.
The response was very positive and we manage to organize another meeting in the middle of October where we will be presenting the e-course to the potential e-course participants.
In September 2014, three eVET2EDU workshops were held in Italy.
Two workshops took place in the Technical Institute for Transport and Logistics “Gioeni Trabia” of Palermo, where were involved about a hundred teachers and professors of the same institute. The Institute would like to include the eVET2EDU e-course into its Moodle Platform and the Director showed the interest to integrate the course as a refresher course for his teachers.
The third one was held at CESIE office with a smaller number of teachers and trainers from different schools and VET Institutions. The workshop focused on the practical and concrete aspects of e-course.
On Wednesday, 28th of August we had our second workshop at Biotechnical Educational Centre Ljubljana. Teacher at Centre were very interested but had some doubts about the amount of time and work that had to be invested in ending the e-course. They are thinking about using parts of the e-course in their classes.
We are back from holidays and ready to rock and roll with our exploitation workshop. First one was held up on Tuesday 19th of August 2014 for colleagues at CPI that will be our ambassadors for spreading the word about our good project results.
The next workshops will be organised at our vocational schools all over Slovenia.
Spanish team has developed two workshops. One was done in JUTE event in Bilbao in February and the other one was part of Novadors 2014, in Gandía, in July.
JEDI is a well known event about ICT and Education in Spain, where a lot of teachers from educational field go to share experiences and learn from other colleges. This event are organized and funded by two important Spanish institutions: the University of Deusto and Cátedra Telefónica, specially Aulablog, a project lead by innovative teachers in Spain interested in promoting the use of technologies in education and web 2.0 tools. Participants rated the course as very positive, mainly because is focus on VET field, because there are not so many experiences in this level. Continue reading
On the 21st of February, 2014 Vytautas Magnus University team held the first exploitation workshop, which was integrated to the conference “Studies in Modern Society 2014″. Open Educational Resources approach was used and this could be mentioned as a positive aspect, because this topic is relevant for educators and attracted a lot of participants of the conference to come to the project workshop section. The course itself is OER, so OER idea together with the course was promoted. It also leaded to the discussion how teachers can use OER in their educational practice. Feedback from participants showed that teachers need more information on what are OER, OER benefits, CC licenses, under what terms they can use products with CC licenses. Continue reading
